JS Language School is currently seeking part-time instructors for school classes, onsite corporate classes, and home tutoring. We are accepting applications from those who are professional and enthusiastic about teaching English.
Conditions
Work Description |
1. Kids’ English classes: Pre-school through elementary school children. 2. General English classes: Middle school/high school/university students and adults. This includes beginner/intermediate/advanced level English and business English. School classes are mostly one-to-one. 3. Test Preparation classes: STEP Eiken, TOEIC, and TOEFL. |
Work Place and Working Hours |
1. Work place: Ikebukuro and/or Kanda Schools; Tokyo area companies, lecture halls, and homes for corporate/residential lessons.
2. Working hours: Instructors will teach in accordance with the student’s schedule on a part-time contract. Those who are able to work multiple days and have flexible schedules are preferred. |
Remuneration | Remuneration includes the hourly payment + reimbursement of transportation costs. The initial pay rate will be determined after the interview and test. « Hourly payment (per lesson) » |
Qualifications | Native instructors must have a high school diploma or above with preferably one year or more teaching experience. Foreign applicants must have a valid visa and be living in the Tokyo area. Japanese instructors must have one year or more teaching experience and/or a teaching certificate and be living in the Tokyo area. English conversation instructors must have language ability equivalent to Eiken Grade Pre-1 or TOEIC 850 or above. Test prep instructors must have language ability equivalent to Eiken Grade 1 or TOEIC 900 or above and have test-taking experience. The qualifications are a general guide. We will consider otherwise solid candidates without actual certifications or test scores. Those with teaching experience or Japanese applicants with experience living overseas in English-language countries will receive preferential pay based on skills and ability. |
