Today I'd like to write about a café that I went to recently. It was a themed café. It was for the new Jurassic World movie. The café is located in Ikebukuro in the Parco department store. If you know me, you know I love dinosaurs. When I heard about this limited time only cafe, I knew I had to try and go.
There are a limited number of tickets sold for the cafe everyday. If you would like to go, you have to go pretty early and take a ticket. We originally went at 4 pm on Saturday, but the tickets were already sold out. We decided to go back the next day. On Sunday, we arrived about 12 and we got a ticket for 5-6 pm.
When we finally got into the café, all of the food and drinks were themed. They had lattes with dinosaur art on top, a cake that was shaped like a dinosaur head, another cake that was decorated like a dinosaur dig, hamburger, curry shaped like a volcano, and a couple of other things. It was really interesting. Not only was the food very cool to look at, it was also delicious. We were only allowed to stay in the restaurant for one hour, so we had to eat a little quickly. There were also some decorations in the café. I took a picture with a velociraptor.
I feel like Japan really loves themed cafés. I think this is a really fun thing about Japan. Where I'm from, we don't have many themes cafés. This could be because I'm from the countryside and not the city. I was never really able to experience these kinds of things in my hometown. Overall, the Jurassic World café was really fun. If you are in Ikebukuro, it's very nice. However, the café is only in operation until August 6. So if you want to go, you should go soon. I really recommend it.
