This blog will be about my second day in Hakone. On the second day, we were really tired so we decided to wake up at 9 AM. We missed breakfast, but we were well rested. The first thing we decided to do was go back to the volcano. When we got there, it wasn't as cold as the first day, but it was still really cold. We looked around for only a few minutes. We also decided to eat some of the black eggs from the volcano. I had never tried a black egg before, so it was interesting. I didn't think the taste was different from a normal hard-boiled egg though.
Next, we decided to go to Lake Ashi. We had to take another rope way. We rode up to the lake, and then we decided to have lunch. We went to a restaurant that looked out at the lake, so we could see the ship that everyone likes to ride. The ship is shaped like a pirate boat. I also wanted to ride it. It seems like it would be fun. After we ate lunch, we decided to walk around the woods near the restaurant. I took some more pictures while we were walking.
Next we decided to go to Sengokuhara. I had seen pictures of this place, and they all looked really beautiful. There are very tall plants there, and they look similar to wheat. I don't think they are wheat though. We took a bus to get there, and when we arrived we decided to walk up the hill. The sun was at a perfect level, so I was able to take some really nice pictures.
After we took pictures, we decided to go back to the lake. We wanted to ride the boat. Once we got back to the lake, we got in line for the boat. We were one of the first ones in line because we were very early for the next boat ride. This was lucky because we were able to sit down during the ride. Both of us ended up falling asleep during the ride, but we didn't miss much. Once we got off the boat, we decided to go to the shrine in Hakone. We walked to the shrine, and we also got our fortunes. It was my first time to get the luckiest fortune, so I was really excited. After getting our fortunes, we went to the big red gate that was in the water. We also took pictures there. After doing that, it was getting late so we decided to do some souvenir shopping.
We went to a station in Hakone that was connected to Shinjuku by train. I forgot the name of the station though. I was able to buy souvenirs for family and friends, and then we decided to go to a tofu restaurant. The restaurant served lots of different kinds of yuba. It was really delicious. After eating, we went back to Shinjuku to drink there until last train. Then we went home and rested. That was my trip to Hakone. It was really fun and I want to go back someday.
