クルーズ船からの日の出

Cruise

Today I would like to write about a cruise I went on this past weekend. I was offered to go on a night cruise of Tokyo Bay as press. This was really exciting for me because I had to review the cruise and write a review about it for a website. Also, because I was covering the cruise as press, I was able to go for free and also bring a friend for free. Normal tickets for the event were 9000 yen, which is a bit out of my league. This was the only way I would be able to experience something so unique.

The cruise started at 12 a.m. and lasted until 6 a.m. It was a picnic/camping theme, so we received a bento and also some snacks to last us through the night. There was also a free bar with many kinds of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Once we got on the boat, they did an introduction with everyone. Then, we were able to look around the ship and try to find a comfy spot for relaxing. There were tents set up in some different rooms. My friend and I were lucky enough to get the last tent in one room. We claimed our tent and then decided to walk around the ship.

From 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. there was a jazz show on the deck. We went out to listen to the music. It was really nice. The stars were out and the music was relaxing. Then from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., there was an explanation of the different stars and constellations. This was all in Japanese, so some things were a bit difficult to understand, but it was also interesting. Then from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m., they had morning yoga on the deck. This was also very interesting.

We docked in the morning at 6 a.m., and we were all very tired because we didn’t really sleep during the cruise. The morning view of Tokyo Bay was my favorite part though. It was so beautiful. I would really like to try more cruises in the future.

Have you ever been on a cruise? How was it?
