Easter

Today I would like to talk about Easter. Easter is a very big holiday in my country. It is celebrated mainly in countries that have had a history of practicing Christianity. In Christianity, Easter is the day that Jesus came back to life after being dead. Jesus is the son of God, and he is very important in Christianity. Many people go to church on Easter Sunday. The date changes every year, but Easter is always on a Sunday.

In recent years, the traditions of Easter have been changing. Now Easter is associated with the Easter Bunny, a giant rabbit who comes to your house and hides eggs in your yard and leaves baskets of candy and small toys for children. When children wake up on Easter, they get their Easter baskets. Then, in most cases, they go on an Easter egg hunt, where they look for the eggs hidden in the yard.

Many families get together on Easter Sunday for a big lunch or dinner. Then they do a big Easter egg hunt as a family, but only the children look for eggs. Usually it is the job of the adults to hide the eggs. When I was young,, I really loved to look for the eggs and I tried to find more eggs than my brothers and cousins.

Easter is also starting to be introduced to Japan. Some stores are selling Easter-themed food and things like that. One example of this would be the Krispy Kreme donut shop. They are selling Easter-themed donuts for a limited time. The donuts are decorated like Easter eggs or like baby chicks. This is a marketing strategy to make another commercialized holiday in Japan. Easter has become a very commercialized holiday all over the world, but it is also a time to gather with your family so I still enjoy Easter very much.
